Carlos Daniel Herrera

Carlos Daniel Herrera is our very first VEGASLOUDER! Photog Spotlight, and he earned it twice. Not only does he shoot some of the best live action photos in Las Vegas, but he's also a musician in the same scene he documents.

Carlos picked up a camera a few years back to document the bands around him and to sharpen his own photography skills. It stuck. His frame now runs the full width of the scene: Appleseed, Dust Bound, EyeMight, Haphazard, Joobilee, Juniper Kills, My Lovers Ichor, Rhaina Yasmin, Same Sun Here, Snarl, Washed, The X-Flowers, and more. Plus touring acts passing through like Human Ant Farm, Iris and the Shade, and Jesus Christ Taxi Driver.

He's shot everywhere from Clay Paper Ink to Voodoo to Taverna Costera to Hola Habibi to Griffin to Brooklyn Bowl to Swan Dive to Rangel and more. The photos are close, loud, and honest, the kind that only come from someone who actually shows up.

And when he is not behind the lens, he's usually behind the kit. Carlos plays drums in a handful of local bands, including No Surprises, The Channel, Mission District, and sometimes Lies For Attention.
